YOUTH GROUP RATION CHALLENGE

As Christians, we are called to live with compassion and to walk alongside those who are suffering.

In a world filled with injustices, the Ration Challenge empowers young people to take practical action and share Christ’s love with people who are displaced around the world.

This year, your church youth group has the unique opportunity to put their faith into action by taking part in the Ration Challenge – an immersive experience that builds empathy, awareness, and a passion for change, while helping those in urgent need.

For three days, your youth group will eat the same rations as Syrian and Palestinian refugees living in urban refugee camps in Jordan and get sponsored to do so.

This challenge is about more than just the experience of eating simple rations – it’s about deepening your youth group’s commitment to serving others – helping displaced people regain the peace of a safe place to belong.

In caring for humankind together we’re acting for peace in the world.

Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you. John 14:27

PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION!

"The Act For Peace Ration Challenge is exactly the kind of formational activity young people need today. When I was a young Christian I knew about God’s saving grace for the world, but it wasn’t until I participated in a similar challenge at youth group that I started to feel how my faith could have any real impact in the world. Empathy leads to compassion. I encourage everyone, especially young people to take up this opportunity to transform faith into practical action this year!"

EAT REFUGEE RATIONS: RAISE MONEY: CHANGE LIVES

For 3 days, youth groups will eat the same rations as a refugee living in Jordan and get sponsored to do it. Just a small amount of rice, flour, lentils, chickpeas, beans, fish and oil.

Every participant is given a personal fundraising page so they can ask friends and family to sponsor them. Youth leaders, parents and guardians can take part too!

The money youth groups raise will help provide emergency food, healthcare and life-changing support to refugees and communities affected by conflict and disaster.

"When you're in a refugee camp, you think you're alone. But to get those [ration packs] - it's so heartwarming. Even if you're hungry at night, at least there's hope. That some people know that you're there, and they care."

Rana, a two-time Ration Challenge participant and Syrian refugee, now living in New Zealand.
